Description
The
Curves CompressionSpring tool creates a compression spring.
Usage
- There are several ways to invoke the tool:
- Press the
Compression Spring button.
- Select the Surfaces →
Compression Spring option from the menu.
- A CompSpring object is created showing the spine (wire) only.
- Optionally edit the values in the Property editor to display the solid shape and adjust the related properties (see Properties below).

A CompSpring object is derived from a Part Feature object and inherits all its properties. It also has the following additional properties:

Comp Spring
- DataDiameter (
Float): Diameter of the spring.
- DataLength (
Float): Spring Length.
- DataReverse Helix (
Bool): Left hand if true.
- DataTurns (
Integer): Number of turns.
- DataWire Diameter (
Float): Diameter of the spring wire.
Setting
- DataFlatness (
Integer): Flatness of spring extremities from 0 to 4.
- DataWire Output (
Bool): Output a wire shape.
