Description

The Sketcher CreateText tool creates text geometries controlled by a Text constraint.

Pos-OVP = Positional On-View-Parameters. introduced in 1.0

  1. There are several ways to invoke the tool:
    • Press the Text button.
    • Select the Sketch → Geometries → Text option from the menu.
    • Right-click in the 3D View and select the Text option from the context menu.
    • Use the keyboard shortcut: G then T.
  2. The cursor changes to a cross with the tool icon.
  3. The Text Parameters section is added at the top of the Sketcher Dialog.
  4. Optionally press the M key or select from the dropdown list in the parameters section to change the tool mode:
    • Width:
      1. Optionally select a different Font from the dropdown list.
      2. Optionally enter a Text.
      3. Pick a start point. Or with Pos-OVP: enter its X- and/or Y-coordinate.
      4. Pick an end point. Or with Pos-OVP: enter the length and/or angle of the text.
    • Height:
      1. Optionally select a different Font from the dropdown list.
      2. Optionally enter a Text.
      3. Pick a start point (bottom). Or with Pos-OVP: enter its X- and/or Y-coordinate.
      4. Pick an end point (top). Or with Pos-OVP: enter the height and/or angle of the text.
  5. The text, a Text object, is created and applicable Pos-OVP based constraints are added.
  6. If the tool runs in continue mode:
    1. Optionally keep creating texts.
    2. To finish, right-click or press Esc, or start another geometry or constraint creation tool.
