Description

The Std DockOverlayToggleTransparent command toggles the special "transparent active" mode for the single docked panel currently under the mouse cursor.

While Std DockOverlayTransparentAll acts as a global switch for all panels, this command enables the user to change the behavior of one panel at a time, in a more fine-grained manner.

In the standard overlay mode, panels become opaque when the mouse hovers over them. When "transparent active" mode is enabled for a panel, it will remain transparent even when the mouse is over it. The controls inside the panel remain fully interactive. This is useful for working in a panel while maintaining a view of the 3D model underneath it.

Usage

  1. The main overlay mode must be active.
  2. Move the mouse cursor so that it is positioned over the overlay panel you wish to change.
  3. There are several ways to invoke the command:
    • Select the View → Dock panel overlay → Toggle transparent mode option from the menu.
    • Use the keyboard shortcut: SHIFT+F3.
    • Use the transparency toggle button () from a docked window's title bar

Preferences

The appearance of the panels in this "transparent active" state is controlled by the same stylesheet as the standard overlay mode.
