Wprowadzenie
Preferencje środowiska 
BIM można znaleźć w Edytorze preferencji. W menu wybierz Edycja → Preferencje... a następnie BIM. Ta grupa jest dostępna tylko gdy środowisko pracy BIM zostało wczytane w bieżącej sesji programu FreeCAD.
Są tam trzy zakładki: Ustawienia ogólne i Ustawienia domyślne oraz Natywne IFC.
Niektóre zaawansowane preferencje mogą być zmienione tylko w Edytorze parametrów. Zobacz stronę Dostrajanie parametrów.
